COURSES & WORKSHOPS 

At Cinnamon Square we are passionate about baking and are keen to educate both adults and children alike.  It is our desire to share knowledge and information with our customers and visitors.  A range of courses and workshop have been devised by our master baker to suit all baking enthusiasts.  
The schedule includes the popular Introductory Bread Making Course, Patisserie for Beginners and new courses, such as, Classic Cake Making. 

These courses are fully inclusive and everything you make, is yours to take home.  We run the courses in small groups to ensure you receive maximum attention.  The courses now take place in both Rickmansworth or Ruislip.  Held in Cinnamon Square's own scientific baking laboratory, the 'Makery.'  This dedicated area is where all our fantastic products are made for both shops and where research and development takes place.

NEW  Advanced Masterclass in Bread Making

Thursday 18th November – 16.30 to 21.30 at Rickmansworth

£125 per person (incl. vat)

Take a step further into the art of breadmaking and discover more about processes which create different flavours and textures. 

You will learn about Sourdoughs, Poolish, Biga and Pate Fermentee.  During this hands-on course you will make a wonderful range of specialty breads. 

Whist this is an advanced course, it is not necessary to have attended the other bread making courses beforehand. 

The course includes coffee on arrival, a buffet style meal and wine.

 

 

   

Masterclass in Bread Making

 Learn how to make traditional English white tin and wholemeal bread by hand without the need for any special equipment.  You will also make crusty oven bottom bloomers, plaited loaves and learn about yeast free bread

This hands-on baking course takes you through a variety of processes; bread machine, bulk fermentation, sponge & dough and sourdough bread. 

Ingredient functionality and their interaction within the baking process are explained with the use of some clever props. 

Completion of the course enables you to confidently make your own bread at home.

Coffee on arrival and a buffet style meal plus wine is included.  You will leave the course with bags of your freshly baked bread!

   

Masterclass in Patisserie

Fruit Torte

Make perfect sweet pastry which can be turned into Fruit Tarts, Frangipanes and Tart au Lemon. 

Make wonderful Crème Patisserie which can be used to fill your Chocolate Éclairs and Fruit Tarts. 

Learn how to make and use chocolate Ganache.

The course includes coffee on arrival.  You will also take home everything you make - 4 boxes full, so don't forget to invite all your friends for afternoon tea!

   

The Art of Chocolate

Monday 22nd November - 17.00 to 20.30

This course is suited to those who love chocolate.  Learn how and why we temper chocolate.  You will also enjoy making pralines, chocolate figurines and Ganache.  And naturally, plenty of opportunity for tasting! 

This is an ideal course for Mother and Daughter or to come with a friend.

 


Masterclass in Italian Style Bread & Pizza

The course takes you through a variety of of Italian breads including Ciabatta, Fococcia, Pizza, Ritorto, Lardo and a salt-free Tuscan bread.

The course includes coffee on arrival, a buffet style meal and wine, with an Italian twist!  You will also take home everything you make.

   

Classic Cake Making

Thursday 30th September – 17.00 to 19.45 at Rickmansworth
Tuesday 5th October – 10.00 to 12.45 at Ruislip
Thursday 4th November – 17.00 to 19.45 at Rickmansworth

This course is takes us down memory lane as we make the classic Victoria Sponge Cake and Swiss Roll.  Both use very different methods to produce them and also make the basis for many other wonderful cakes.  The cakes are finished and decorated before taking home to impress your friends and family.

Chocolate Making

Children will make bread, pizzas, cookies, blood red jam tarts and real traditional custard (but slime green!).  The children take home everything they make, plus recipes to try them again at home.
